Only fullblooded Charolais cattle can be registered.

I used a starter pack today. I got a Charolais bull. 100% purebred. Then I got 3 Angus cows,  and actually a Hereford/Shorthorn cow. Shocker on that one.

I wanted all Charolais, since we don't have Gelbviehs yet. I continuously bred them down until I had 100% Charolais. Since doing this,  will those cows be eligible for registration? Or do I have to breed 4 more generations to be truly 100% purebred Charolais?

Can you link to that one for me?

No, the parents won't be registered so their calves won't eligible to be registered.

Not sure how this is going to go,

Maybe that would work better. Cow was 100% Angus,  bull was 100% Charolais, but maybe the Shorthorn could be part of a throwback on either side of sire or dam. Was a pretty interesting mix of things trying to breed up to full blooded Charolais! Hope this helps you and if need be, take them all and do what you need to with them. I don't mind starting over.

That nasty Shorthorn just wants in on everything!!

This should be for the 100% Angus and 50% Shorthorn heifer calf.
