    • Cattle New heritable trait: <strong>Hair Growth</strong>, under Breed Character on the cattle page. It sets how much show hair an animal can grow and how fast it comes. It is inherited like every other trait &mdash; hairy sires throw hairy calves &mdash; so breed for it.
    • Cattle <strong>Show string.</strong> From an animal's page, add it to your show string to give it its own ration (up to a full show ration), a hair program, and a fitting before a show. A fitting is charged when you do it and fades over a few days, so fit the day before the show. Take an animal out of the string and it eats with its pasture again.
    • Economy Feed bills come out nightly, per head, for anything on a paid ration, in the show string or on a hair program, priced by the game month. If a bill can''t be paid, that animal's programs drop back to the free ones until you top up and set them again.
    • Help New help article: <a href="/Help/Topic/19/steer-classification">Steer Classification</a>. It covers how the check-in classifier works, what happens when a steer classes out, borderline steers, and the standard for every breed and color division.
    • Pastures Every pasture now has a <strong>ration</strong>, set from the pasture's edit form: grass only, maintenance, grower or finishing. Grass and maintenance are free. Grower and finishing cost coins per head and put flesh on everything in the pasture. Cattle not in a pasture eat maintenance.
  • Feature
    • Cattle Cull is now <strong>Send to Town</strong>. Sell any animal to the feeder-calf buyers and packers for coins by the pound — CAB steers bring the most, packer cows the least, and finishing a steer on feed is what gets it the top price.     • Shows Judges and the Seedstock Buyer now see an animal as it is <em>presented</em>, not only as it is bred: flesh, hair and fit each add to what the judge sees in the ring. How an animal was presented is recorded on its show entry.
    • Shows Judging now rewards an ideal type, not just more of everything. Muscle, condition, capacity and frame are scored against what the ring wants for steers, heifers and bulls, so an over-muscled or over-conditioned animal gets marked down like a light one. Every judge leans a little differently from the ring's ideal, and the ideal itself drifts slowly from year to year. Frame is now judged.

    • Shows Brahman-cross steers: the minimum hump (Crest) a steer needs to avoid disqualification from the Brahman division now varies between 40 and 45 each time it is classified, like a different classifier at every show. A steer in that range is borderline and can class in at one show and out at the next. Bulls and females in Brahman divisions keep the fixed cutoff of 50.
